After two years of technical education and completing their welding certifications, Sofia returned to the root of their interest in mixing art with design and technical skill.
Utilizing a new found love for stainless steel and industrial chain, Sofia designed several candleholders for their final project.
The pieces invite a material into the home that often contrasts the kind of items people consider ‘cozy’ or inviting. Yet through function, the holders do not feel odd or too industrial in a home. They bring their own unique sense of warmth.
Finding the softness and warmth in harsh and cold materials is a concept Sofia hopes to continue to explore.
